    Investment & Life Insurance Trainer

    The Role

    The OUTsurance Learning Academy requires a highly experienced and knowledgeable individual to facilitate and run with all the Life Insurance and Investment product, systems and FAIS legislative training needs.

    Responsibilities:

    To take full accountability for all aspects of Life Insurance and Investment training for a number of different channels, at all levels including responsibility for:

    • Managing the FAIS Fit & Proper legislative requirements of the providers including, Product Specific and Class of Business training, RE and CPD points
    • Ensure that all outcomes are met in terms of the requirements of the Full Qualification
    • Training needs analysis and identification for all employees whose roles are impacted by the Investment and Life Insurance business
    • Content and assessment updates, design and development
    • Coordination and training the relevant content
    • Assessment of learner scripts in line with INSETA accreditation needs
    • Management of training course evaluation
    • Training administration and record keeping for reporting purposes both internally as well as the Rep register updates for the FSCA
    • Alignment of training material to Skills Development legislation
    • Floor training needs analysis, identification, roll out and reporting
    • Accepting full responsibility for all communication with the Life Insurance, Investment and Learning Academy departments
    • Relationship building with management team and line managers
    • Attendance at respective stakeholder meetings
    • Ensure all evidence and required documentation is gathered and recorded in a timely and accurate manner for QTCO/ INSETA/FSCA verifications
    • Take ownership of quality control for assessments
    • Comply with the quality management system, by conducting frequent quality checks of learner ID’s and learner document submissions
    • Comply with all assessing and moderation requirements.
    • Compile assessing and moderation reports for verification

    Qualifications:

    • ETDP Practitioner qualification or Train the Trainer
    • Registered Assessor with INSETA
    • A FSCA approved qualification in the Financial Planning field on an NQF level 7 or higher will be preferable, alternatively a level 6 qualification in a similar field with progress towards a level 7
    • (Certified Financial Planner (CFP) will be preferred but is not an absolute requirement. Aspirations to obtaining such a certification will be beneficial)
    • Completed RE and COB (Class of Business) will give you an advantage

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years of Long Term Insurance and Investments related experience is essential
    • Previous facilitation and assessing experience
    • Preferably hold membership at a professional body (IISA or FPI)
    • Experience in the delivery of Qualification will be advantageous

    Knowledge

    • FAIS Legislation (developmental requirements) and other applicable legislation
    • Understanding of the CPD framework and being able to align learning initiatives to meet CPD requirements for experienced FAIS reps
    • Life Insurance and Investments industry and related products
    • Familiar with the world of the adviser and the challenges they face

    Applicants who reach the interview stage will be expected to do a formal presentation to a selection panel on a relevant topic.
