    Investor Relations Analyst

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Supporting and contributing to all IR related activities in collaboration with the Corporate Affairs Executive. Taking the initiative at the direction of the Corporate Affairs Executive to execute on information analysis to ensure a complete and consistent message for investors.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOMES/ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Contributes, Maintains, monitors and assists with the coordination of the company’s investor relations plan, calendar and database of investors/analysts and of interactions together with the Corporate Affairs Executive;
    • Propose communication materials for external distribution or for internal use to address standard queries and also more material queries for consideration by the Corporate Affairs Executive to ensure timely, accurate and consistent disclosure to the investment community and internal stakeholders;
    • Maintains a thorough understanding of the performance drivers behind Aspen’s financial results;
    • Financial and information analysis (of internal and external data) and interpretation of the output to assist in translating the information to a format for communication with external or internal stakeholders;
    • In-depth understanding of investor and analyst base in order to prioritise requests and communications between management and investors
    • Show initiative to execute modelling instructions of the Corporate Affairs Executive of industry (including peers) and company knowledge and performance to communicate to sell-side analysts, investors and stakeholders at large the future prospects of the company, under the guidance of the Corporate Affairs Executive
    • Gain and maintain a strong understanding of the areas of the pharmaceutical industry which are relevant to Aspen and key drivers and risks;
    • To articulate Aspen investment case in both a written and oral form allowing for high involvement with presentations and other communication materials for internal reporting presentations, earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors;
    • Contributes to the production of all annual reports;
    • Monitors the investor relevant sections of the company website;

    Utilise technical competencies to monitor and analyse sell-side analyst reports, fact checks and summarizes them for review by the Corporate Affairs Executive. Interrogates the numbers and calculations within reports to ensure accuracy and relevance of publications;

    • Compiles and maintains a relevant consensus of sell-side estimates with the development objective of becoming the key contact for the sell-side. Ensuring that sell-side analysts have an understanding of the Group’s key measures, outlook and considerations for the forecast period
    • Planning and coordination of conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings;
    • Provides and documents insights learned from sell-side and buy-side interaction by providing feedback on the trends and current views/perceptions of the investment community with regards to the Group and industry

    Requirements

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • BCom Finance/ Business science or related qualification 
    • Studying towards a CFA preferred
    • Good communication and coordination skills
    • Good knowledge of data management and financial statement analysis 

    Knowledge of:

    • Finance, industry, business, processes and administration, policies and procedure
    • 3-5 years of post B Degree in an analytical role, Equity research or banking experience preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    SKILLS

    • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Proven capabilities in relationship-building;
    • Strong computer skills especially Excel, Word, Powerpoint; & preparation of high quality presentations.
    • A strong understanding of and experience with spreadsheet modelling preferable otherwise a willingness to develop superior modelling skills.
    • Ability to manage Projects
