    Job Description

    The Treasury team within CTO RTF (Risk, Treasury & Finance) is looking for a Specialist ETL Data Engineer. RTF provides IT expertise to our customers. We enhance and support the Group’s Regulatory Reporting framework providing tool sets for data, reporting and front-end portal capabilities to enhance Business Intelligence across the RTF businesses. We provision unique solutions to meet business & regulatory challenges.

    We are the technology partner supporting Credit Risk, Treasury, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Data and Business Intelligence.

    We handle the consumption of the Bank’s data for the calculation of risk metrics and making the outputs available to business and regulators.
    Our task is the successful delivery of innovative solutions that enable business efficiency.

    Key critical skills:

    • 5+ years experience ETL experience (depth and breadth of experience required)
    • Power BI experience
    • 3-5 years’ experience with designing and building, BI systems and complex data eco systems
    • Cross domain knowledge
    • Proven ability to understand existing code, analyse processes and improve the current solution
    • Must be self-driven and have the drive to seek out opportunities for improvement (poses a natural ability to stay abreast with new technologies and tools, upskill on tools and technology to enable solutions)
    • Additional to the above skill sets would a track record in delivering quality and innovative solutions in a prior group reporting function.

    Accountability:

    • Understand the technical landscape and bank wide architecture that is connected to or dependent on the business area supported in order to effectively design & deliver data solutions (architecture, pipeline etc.)
    • Translate / interpret the data architecture direction and associated business requirements & leverage expertise in analytical & creative problem solving to synthesise data solution designs (build a solution from its components) beyond the analysis of the problem

    Lead Strategic Data Solution (Everyday Banking)

    This role in in line with the Everyday Banking (EB) strategy to build Analytics capabilities that support the business units in this cluster. This role will include, but is not limited to, data solutions, front-end utilities for data access and analysis, data visualization platform testing and deployment and enabling business reporting capability – in whatever form is required.

    The primary focus of this role is to identify areas where solutions can be delivered faster at less cost, mitigating unnecessary risk and redeployments. This includes automation, wherever possible, and the development of component based frameworks to enable downstream re-use of data entities.
    Improving the collaboration between Everyday Banking, CVM and IT and Data Engineering is also a major responsibility of this role with a specific focus on reducing the complexity, improving the reliability and increasing the efficiency of solution delivery. Providing a single point of entry into and out of Everyday Banking.

    The role will also focus on Lead selection methodologies that support business growth, processes that support rapid execution and accurate tracking.
    While focusing on capability and growth agenda, some opportunities will be surfaced and the responsibility of this role is to then enable business to reap these opportunities.

    Accountability: Data Architecture, Tools and Platforms

    • To base the establishment of the required strategic business and technology architecture artefacts (e.g. Product and Campaign Analytics, MI and Collections) operating models, process models, people models, etc.) on the specified RBB and Data Engineering strategies.
    • Review, document and regularly maintain 'As is' strategic EB and Data architecture artefacts and ensure that all key stakeholders understand the current strategic architectural landscape for data flows
    • Ensure close alignment between the EB business architecture landscape and the group strategic Information and Technology landscape by working seamlessly with Group Technology's and Data Engineering strategic solutions

    Education And Experience Required

    • BSC degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualifications
    • Actuarial, Statistical or Mathematics qualification will be preferred

    • Demonstrate clear grasp of statistical methodology experience in data science
    • Extensive experience in Agile methodology.

    Specialist Service Risk & Controls

    Support the Management of the Service Risk and Control Team within agreed financial budgets and in support of strategic business plans and projects.

    Job Description

    • Monitor CIB, Transactional Banking conformance to operational policies, procedures, initiatives and standards, applicable to the Business as a whole

    Cryptography Specialist
