    Key Account Manager

    The Key Account Manager (KAM) position is both intense and rewarding. It focuses on teamwork and culture within the office, and on maintaining and growing the largest accounts in the Meltwater Africa client base, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to government departments and national organizations.

    What To Expect As a Key Account Manager

    Your job will be to meet Key clients on a regular basis, consult with them and build strong relationships to optimize ROI on our software products. Be at the cutting edge of the media intelligence space by driving strategy and widespread product adoption of our software among a small portfolio of our high yield and high potential clients.

    We encourage proactive outreach to clients, face–to–face meetings, and extremely regular contact, to ensure that our clients trust us to look after their needs through their existing subscriptions and beyond.

    As a Key Account Manager, you will work closely with the Account Associate who will assist and support you with general account work. In addition, you work closely with our Growth Executives and Account Executives who will assist you in growing your client portfolio, by upselling existing clients and cross-selling into other departments and affiliates.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of around 60-90 of Meltwater’s African Key Accounts
    • Meet and exceed sales metrics with both individual and team targets
    • Build positive, long-lasting relationships through customer engagement with numerous product offerings to increase value and drive market share
    • Implement strategies to drive business growth and inform decision-making at the C-suite level
    • Increase revenue by negotiating contract renewals for long-term subscriptions while developing up-sale and cross-sale opportunities
    • Work across all verticals; including non-profit, JSE listed, government, and more.
    • Inform and drive knowledge by challenging the status quo across traditional and social channels

    Skills And Requirements

    • University degree with strong academic results
    • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
    • Minimum two years experience in B2B Account Management
    • Natural leadership qualities
    • Impeccable time management skills with a proven ability to work autonomously
    • Strategic account management experience
    • Sales experience
    • Fluent in English, proficiency in French advantageous, please include all languages skills in your CV when applying.
    • Valid to work within RSA - Work Permit/Visa
