    Lead Business Analyst

    Minimum Requirements:

    • B.Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or related field
    • Diploma in Business Analysis
    • Certification Project Management (Prince2 or other)
    • Certification in UML preferable
    • Agile certification preferable
    • Exposure within a Payroll/HR or financial services environment would be advantageous

    Minimum Experience Required: 

    • 8-10 years’ + experience within a Business Analysis environment
    • Product-specific knowledge about the related position and/or legislation
    • 3 years’ experience in managing a team of business analysts
    • Team size a minimum of at least 2 direct reports
    • Facilitate the establishment of team structure and roles and planning for resource allocation for projects
    • Recruiting and hiring for an expanding BA team in conjunction with HR
    • Staff forecasting and resource planning
    • Onboarding and training new hires
    • Coaching, reviewing and encouraging growth
    • Regular one on one meetings and team meetings with team members
    • Conducting performance appraisals and identifying areas for improvement
    • Proven experience in assisting the team to reach departmental and organizational objectives
    • Identify, manage and monitor any disciplinary issues within the team in conjunction with HR
    • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies and experience within agile ceremonies
    • Advanced knowledge of Prototyping techniques in developing specifications preferable Previous experience in facilitating user groups and user acceptance testing
    • Previous experience in facilitating JAD sessions
    • 3 years' experience in dealing with Product Owners / Stakeholders across all levels 

    Responsibilities:

    Team Management

    • In conjunction with HR, recruit, hire, onboard and ensure continuous development of the team
    • Define roles and responsibilities within the team ensuring that objectives are understood and accomplished
    • Delegation of tasks and projects to team members
    • Facilitation of team meetings with set agenda points
    • Regular one on one meetings with team members
    • Coach and mentor team members to reach team and organizational objectives
    • Meetings are minuted and uploaded onto a central access point
    • Conduct performance reviews with team members
    • Ensure that performance measures are defined in line with organizational objectives and any performance issues are addressed, and measures are put into place to improve performance
    • Conduct, manage and monitor any disciplinary processes within the team, in conjunction with HR

    Designing the Solutions

    • Understand the overall strategy, proposition, and roadmap of the business and the individual products;
    • Conduct Feasibility studies where required;
    • Translate the Epics and Features in collaboration with the Product Owner into user stories;
    • Align user stories to product requirements and other stakeholder requirements in collaboration with the Product Owner;
    • User stories/BRD’s should have the right level of detail with supporting acceptance criteria in line with the Definition of Readiness of the Scrum team/Development team;
    • Work with UX to design, align to UI and test user journeys to ensure the client experience is fit for purpose;
    • Work with Marketing and the Product Owner to ensure that communication is fit for purpose and supports the client and business outcome;
    • Work with Operations and Service to ensure that the businesses processes and operational support processes are defined and supported;
    • Participate in the grooming session and provide clarification on the user stories/BRD’s to enable the Development Team to refine the user stories;
    • Be the primary source of reference and support during the development of the user stories/requirements;
    • Collaborate with the Test Analyst to develop a Test Pack;
    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing to ensure user stories meet all appropriate criteria before deployment;
    • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Marketing to enable all appropriate marketing, reporting, communication, training, legal, security, and operational requirements are in place before deployment;
    • Collaborate with the Product Owner regarding the management of stakeholders throughout the process.
    • Alongside Product Owner and relevant departments, design monitoring / reporting solutions to keep track of uptake on solutions implemented

    Managing the Solutions

    • Support Ops and Business in terms of production issues arising
    • Create visibility
    • Manage stakeholders throughout the process
    • Assist in setting up metrics and tools to monitor the success of the products

    • Business Processes (as-is and to-be)
    • Component/context diagrams
    • Basic UI mock-ups
    • Channel impacts (Web, Service, App, etc.)
    • Business Requirement Documents

    • Channel mapping
    • Stakeholder mapping
    • Scope document
