    Learning Experience Designer Associate

    Key responsibilities:

    • Design engaging learning experiences by applying learning science strategies and practices in the design to achieve competencies, skills, and outcomes in higher education
    • Design and analyze authentic quality assessment measures
    • Design course materials, templates, design documents, and activities that align with NXU’s course-based competency-based approach
    • Leverage data including feedback, survey results, industry standards, and best practices to inform improvements in the learning experiences
    • Actively seeks opportunities to incorporate new and innovative ways to engage learners through design, development, and advancement of quality learning experiences
    • Collaborate with SMEs, course production, and vendors for a smooth course creation process
    • Experiment with new tools and technology to improve learner experiences and course quality
    • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders

    The ideal candidate:  

    • A master’s degree or higher, preferably in the area of instructional design, educational technology, curriculum design, workforce learning, or adult learning
    • Knowledge of the online learning ecosystem including products, opportunities, competitions, and trends
    • A minimum of five years of learning design, outcomes assessment and delivery for the higher education environment
    • Experience applying learning design strategies informed by learning and behavioral sciences, instructional design, and interaction/web/eLearning design principles
    • Experience in developing and implementing learning experiences/eLearning from ideation through implementation and analysis
    • Strong “hands-on” tactical management of the learning experience/product development
    • Experience in building course assessments and rubrics, instructional alignment, time on tasks, and curriculum mapping
    • Knowledge and practical application of adult learning principles, as well as an awareness of the international learner population needs to facilitate learning and enhance user experience
    • Knowledge of authoring tools, OER, and interactive design tools with the ability to quickly learn new technologies
    • Technically proficient and possesses creative and intuitive problem-solving ability
    • Excellent organizational, record-keeping and time management skills with the ability to multitask and/or quickly switch tasks as priorities change
    • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, detailed and process-oriented
    • Comfortable working in a matrix organization with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and geographically dispersed work environment
