    Legal Administrative Assistant


    Debtsource (Pty) Ltd is offering employment to a Legal Administrative Assistant based at the offices in Blackheath, Randburg. The company provides outsourced credit management services and the applicant can visit our website at for more details.

    The Legal Administrative Assistant position is required to act as a liaison between the Debtsource Legal Department and internal staff, clients, and third-party suppliers to the legal process, including attorneys, liquidators, business rescue practitioners and private investigators. 

    The employee should have completed Matric and experience in the field of Law and Trade Credit will be an advantage. The applicant must have an eye for detail and must be proficient in both the Afrikaans and English languages. Applicants from all race groups are welcome to apply and applicants will not be penalised for age. Candidates are required to execute instructions, be able to adapt to change and have a willingness to learn. Knowledge and experience in finance will be an advantage.

    The position is available immediately, but allowances will be made for applicants who require resignation periods. Initial training will be provided with particular focus on Debtsource specific systems, as well as ongoing training relating to Credit Management and the legal process. 

    Applicants should further have knowledge in dealing with Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word and Excel and should have a valid driver’s licence.


    Job Description

    The employee’s duties shall include, but not necessarily be limited to:

    • The opening of new Legal files on behalf of clients
    • Creating and following up on Authorisations for Legal, Business Rescue and Liquidations
    • Follow up with clients for the prompt return of documents required in a legal matter and compiling files to be submitted to the attorneys
    • Acting as a Liaison between attorneys, clients and internal staff as it relates to documents required in the legal process
    • Escalating queries on Legal to the Legal Assistant or Legal Manager where required
    • Capturing of Legal invoices on Xero
    • Assisting the Company’s management with operational tasks as assigned by the Company’s management from time to time
    • Manage courier services for the delivering and collecting of documents
