    What will you do?

    In this position you will join our Environmental and Planning business unit in Cape Town, and you will be exposed to world class projects managing a team of excellent and performance driven individuals that will enable you to build your career path into a well-rounded and experienced specialist in Environment and Planning.

    We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

    • Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Environment and Planning Unit with specific emphasis on the environmental service line which will include developing and fostering relationships with key and global clients.
    • Contribute to the growth and diversity of the global Environment and Planning competency and taking full responsibility for the compliance to company policies and procedures, legislative requirements and act as a role model for Aurecon’s values and behaviors.
    • Technical leadership of the environmental service line, including project management, financial management, resource management and management of technical and commercial risk.
    • Assisting other leaders in the Unit to grow an Environmental & Advisory services business to meet our clients’ needs and expectations.
    • Business development locally and within Africa in conjunction with the relevant Client Engagement Teams.
    • Attending to team functionality and project financial control.
    • Responsible for the full project leader functions on large, complex environmental projects across Africa.
    • Should demonstrate solid commercial ability and insight, to support an ability to draw strong conclusions from a body of supporting analysis.
    • Should demonstrate a concern for the development of others and an ability to impart useful skills and knowledge within the relevant span of management.
    • Able to perform all management tasks in respect of an entire project and, in particular, the day to day management and control of research, analysis and synthesis, towards meeting project deliverables and milestones.
    • Project reporting and review that is accurate, and feedback to senior management.
    • Preparing bid documents on a regular basis and technical mentorship and career development support to the team.

    What can you bring to the team?

    Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imaging our world and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future.  You will also need a Post Graduate qualification (preferably a Masters) in Environmental Sciences or equivalent fields with a minimum of 8 years’ experience with at least 5 years of that being in a senior role managing projects. Energy, Oil & Gas and/ or Mining sector experience would be desirable.
