    Market Development Manager

    Market Development Manager

    As tne Market Development Manager, you are at the intersection of making a positive social impact and delivering business results. You will report directly to the Head of Wallet and take ownership of developing and executing plans to grow the Wallet business within assigned markets. With your day-to-day focus being on how to profitably scale the business, your work will often result in customers owning their first financial product and being financially included.

    This role could be based in either Cape Town or Johannesburg and will include substantial travel.

    Internal Liaison takes place across internal departments. External liaison takes place with potential partners, regulators, service providers and customers.

     

    Duties and responsibilities (include but is not limited to the following):

    • Be the Wallet & VAS champion for your assigned markets
    • Manage, report on and help determine the annual budget and strategy for assigned markets
    • Oversee the successful implementation of plans in conjunction with other departments to achieve targets
    • Handle partner relationships relevant to your market
    • Drive scale by increasing active user numbers and user engagement with products
    • Build capability within sales to improve their selling capability of the products
    • Build capability in marketing to improve their understanding of the product and customer
    • Identify and evaluate opportunities to expand product and services range offered
    • Oversee and propose consumer pricing
    • Conduct market and competitor analysis to inform decision making
    • To manage own professional and self-development

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
    • Related Tertiary Qualification in Commerce or similar (Essential)
    • 4 years’ work experience (Essential)
    • Experience in business development, marketing or finance advantageous
    • Experience in a financial services or similar industry would be highly advantageous
    • Knowledge of digital store of value and financial products
    • Knowledge of business-to-business sales and proposal writing
    • Knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements
