Mine Overseer at Anglo American

Job Description:

You will be responsible for the following:

• Mining operation is managed and directed to achieve the budgeted plan and schedule compliance metrics
• Mining Equipment are utilised according to the target to ensure the achievement of mining targets.
• Trucks are loaded to full capacity when hauling and the Loading section is informed when this is not achieved.
• The different factors from a hauling’s perspective that influence cycle times, are addressed to ensure the shortest possible cycle times.
• Substandard road conditions are reported to the responsible section to keep damage to mining equipment to the minimum.
• Integrate with plant on continuous basis
• Close monitoring off mining production processes
• Manage the section's expenditure within the approved budget to ensure effective cost control and savings.
• Optimise human resources in a way that maximum output is delivered by the section.
• Ensure work ethics is of such a nature that workers continuously strive towards improving their own performance.
• Ensure alignment across shifts
• Manage a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
• Keep environmental impact within statutory requirements to ensure compliance to statutory requirements is met.
• Manage and overseeing the fatigue management on shifts

Qualifications:

You will be required to have the following:

• National Diploma in Mining essential
• 3 years’ experience as a Mine Overseer essential
• 4 years Operational Mining experience & supervisory essential
• Knowledge of Health Mine and Safety act essential
• FLM / MMP advantageous
• Mine Overseers Ticket essential
• Computer Literacy, MS Office. Dispatch system (Modular) SAP essential
• Valid South African Driver’s license essential
• Opencast Blasting Certificate essential
