    National Human Resources Manager - (Store Operations)

    To drive HR processes and initiatives, aligned with the HR Strategy, in order to ensure effective service delivery, promote employee engagement and unified company culture and enable human resources capability that meets present and future demands.

    Job description

    • Assume responsibility for the operational delivery and implementation of all HR-related processes and projects for stores, including talent acquisition, staffing, compensation and benefits, learning and development, succession planning, employee relations and retention, BBBEE / EE compliance, labour relations and union negotiations.
    • To proactively build strong, collaborative working relationships with the Divisional Operations Executives and key stakeholders across the organisation.
    • Plan and drive new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives. 
    • To equip HR Managers with the skills, tools and resources to build and maintain strong HR support across the business within the store's environment.
    • To address and anticipate key business challenges in order to build complete and long-term people solutions.
    • To proactively establish the human resources capability and talent requirements for stores and develop suitable action plans to ensure that future business needs are met. 
    • To promote the employee value proposition of the organisation by supporting and facilitating a positive organisational culture that fosters accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement to deliver passionate customer service.
    • To facilitate change/transformation of group initiatives through the effective communication and implementation of the EE plan, WSP and transformation forum. 
    • To ensure the delivery of the HR strategy, reporting requirements, projects, scorecard targets, and goals to co-manage financial and human resources through cost consciousness, planning, business reviews, and other relevant forums 
    • Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and ensure the prompt investigation of all legal-related matters and ensure compliance to all relevant HR policies, processes, and practices.

    Minimum requirements

         Experience:

    •  7 - 10 years Generalist HR Management of which 5 years must be at a Senior Management level (ideally within a Retail company)
    • Experience in having worked with trade unions and in a unionised environment
    • Experience in a fast-paced environment, within a large multi-site organisation (similar to Clicks) situated in geographically dispersed locations
    • Proven track record of delivery, across a number of different areas of HR specialisation
    • Financial management (budgets, ratios, statements)
    • Labour relations

    Education:

    • 3-year tertiary qualification (BA, B Comm (HR) , B Soc Sc, B. Ed, B. Bus Science)
    • Desirable: Honours Degree
