National Technical and Operations Manager
Our residential client has been growing its national portfolio through acquisitions and developments. Currently providing around 13,000 students with safe and secure accommodation across our country, where their buildings are strategically placed close to all the Universities. Their current business plan allows them to do all Property and Facilities Management in-house which allows them control and effective management.
To join their Johannesburg-office, they require a strong and experienced National Technical and Operational Manager. This role will have you fully responsible for more than 35 buildings, housing active and energetic students, your 4 key performance areas will be PEOPLE management, IT Systems optimization, Budgeting P&L control, and Technical.
Managing a team of nearly 40, with around 100 indirect reports and reporting to the Facilities Executive, you will manage a team of Property Managers, Facility Managers, Building Managers, Maintenance Managers, Administrators, and artisans to ensure that the portfolio is well maintained and running effectively.
Your staff management skills will also require you to uplift, manage and develop the team performance and abilities by way of implementing data-driven KPI's, reports, and performance measuring tools, in addition, you will also be required to instill a culture of ownership amongst your team.
For your actual assets, you will manage the technical preventative maintenance, set and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, digital transformation -in terms of maintenance systems, fault reporting, pest control, lifts, and services as well as Heat pumps and Boilers systems. You will need to ensure that maintenance is completed to required specifications and standards as well as adhering to all health and safety compliance. Over and above all this, the main function of your role is to ensure that the buildings are clean, safe, well maintained, and profitable with the intent of future-proofing the portfolio.
