    Operations Data Analyst

    Purpose:

    The Operations Data Analyst will provide a link between the firm's data and Project Managers. The Operations Data Analyst will also contribute to organizational improvement by gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and introducing process improvements throughout the reporting process.

     

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE PERFORMANCE AREA

    Data Collation, Management and Analysis

    • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data systems including interpreting data, analyse results using statistical techniques.
    • Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
    • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality.

     

    Reports Collation

    • Develop, modify, maintain and support custom reports for both ad-hoc and ongoing needs.
    • Support the LSD Project Managers with routine reporting.

     

    Advisory and Process Optimization

    • Work closely with LPMs to prioritize business and information needs.
    • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
    • Provide effective and efficient administrative support to the LSDOPS Team.

     

    Manuals and Process Documentation

    • Create and maintain technical documentation for various systems, services and business processes including databases and reporting procedures.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF 4) – (Required)
    • BCom / National Diploma or other relevant qualification in a related field (Required)

     

    Mental & Environmental / Legal Requirements

    • Must be able to handle pressure, setbacks and a high level of stress
    • Must be able to work to deadlines
    • Must be able to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality policies
    • Must have clear criminal and credit records

     

    Experience

    • Prior experience in similar function. Minimum 2 Years (Required)
    • Prior experience working on financial systems. Minimum 2 Years (Required)

     

    System Skills

    • Microsoft Office – Intermediate (Required)
    • Microsoft Excel – Advanced (Required)
    • Microsoft SQL - Beginner to Intermediate (Required)
    • Elite 3E or other Law firm financial management systems – Beginner to Intermediate (Required)

     

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Advanced knowledge of Excel for fee analysis and reporting purposes
    • Basic knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
    • Ability to troubleshoot and analyse data
    • Experience with dashboards and data visualisation tools
    • Experience in Microsoft SQL and Power BI
    • Knowledge of a centralised/ shared services environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills
    • Strong commercial and financial awareness
    • Database experience
    • Attention to detail
