    Operations Manager

    Plan and leads the execution of site operations such as drying, processing and warehousing in order too meet the seed availability-, profit- and quality standards required. Ensures the efficient use of human resources, equipment and materials.

    Specific Functions

    • Promote an actively caring culture for safety amongst all personnel, contractors and visitors
    • Responsible for the planning and supervision of plant operations, including but not limited to:
      • Harvesting schedule – established in coordination with the field operations team
      • Offloading, husking, sorting, drying, shelling, conditioning, packaging and rebagging.
      • Receiving and bulk storage
      • Material handling
      • Material movement
      • Bin mapping, sampling and estimating
    • Lead ESH efforts, provide assistance and arrange for resources to promote safety at the site.
    • Coordination with field operation team to ensure a smooth transition and flow of product from field to plant.
    • Supervise the flow of product through the different stages of the plant process
    • Liaise with customer services team to coordinate shipment of finished goods
    • Ensure accurate inventory control and management
    • Maintain operational records as required by our management systems, with the focus on continual improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001
    • Responsible for budget control at the sites, minimize cost in conjunction of supply reliability, quality and speed to market/seed availability objectives.
    • Manage facility personnel to ensure excellence in plant maintenance and housekeeping
    • Assign and review goals, training needs and assessment reviews for plant supervisors and other direct reports.
    • Minimum a diploma or preferably, a bachelor degree in agronomy or similar area of expertise
    • Hands on experience and technical proficiency in seed processing activities and management of a team– 4 years prior experience. Field experience desirable
