    Payroll Manager

    Purpose of the role

    • Successfully oversee and guide the payroll function, ensure alignment of reward systems with the business goals and enhance the groups’ ability to attract, retain and reward high performing and talented employees.          

     

    Responsibilities include:

    • Maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing, including the streamlining of processes                                                                                                              
    • Regularly monitor and assess/audit integrity of payroll systems/ rules/calculations and application of legislation                                                                                                          
    • Reviewing, monitoring and implementation of the remuneration policy, philosophy and strategy
    • Leading and managing the payroll team                                                                                                
    • Researching and developing annual remuneration increase proposals to EXCO and implementation of approved increases across the Group                                                                    
    • Implementing and managing the Company's short-term incentive schemes for the Group
    • Developing and reviewing Remuneration and Employee Benefits Policies and Procedures
    • Providing guidance and support to the group on all remuneration and benefits related matters  
    • Management of retirement funds and insured benefits, medical aid scheme strategy and policy and general remuneration practices                                                                                

                   

    Minimum Requirements

    • Relevant Payroll/ Finance or HR Qualification                                                                                      
    • 10 years relevant experience of which at least 5 must be in a managerial role                      
    • Experience in payroll calculation and processing                                                                              
    • Solid financial acumen and knowledge of Accounting software                                                  
    • Extensive knowledge of Sage VIP Payroll, ESS and Accounting software is essential            
    • Experience in interpreting Main Agreements      
    • Candidates Must have extensive knowledge in expat payrolls, tax implications, legal compliance, liaisons with SARS, tax returns and submissions. Must understand the tax implications of expats on payrolls                                  
    • In- depth working knowledge of relevant tax legislation including Income Tax Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act,
