    Port Facility Security Officer

    Job Summary

    • You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of the Security function for In Ports and Paarden Eiland Engineering Works to ensure maximum protection of product, people, assets, information and reputation in accordance with De Beers Marine Security and organizational objectives and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS).

    Your role will:

    • Manage security contracts to maximize operational and financial performance and to minimize risk.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Manage and control the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure.
    • Implement Security risk management process and methodology across De Beers Marine In Ports and Paarden Eiland.
    • Development, maintenance and implementation of the Port facility and Paarden Eiland security plans.
    • Integrate Security Risk Management into the full business Value Chain.

    Qualifications
    Formal qualifications:

    • National Diploma in Security Risk Management/Criminology or NQF6 equivalent is essential.
    • Registered in accordance with the Private Security Industry Regulation Act, 56 of 2001 (Grade A).

    Additional requirements:

    • Valid Code 08/EB Driver’s License.
    • Knowledge of risk quantification and mitigation
    • Knowledge of security controls and systems
    • Travel across to Namibia as and when required

    Role-specific knowledge:

    • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ working experience in a mining security, or maritime environment
    • Excellent knowledge of security, process and data analytical systems and control environment.
    • Knowledge of the South African and Namibian Diamond Acts and the Kimberley Certification Scheme.
    • Excellent knowledge of Group Security Standards.
