Processing - Drying Seed Technician, Lichtenburg at Bayer

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports all aspects of drying and seed conditioning in the plant (offloading, husking, sorting, drying, shelling, conditioning, packaging and re-bagging) in order to meet the seed availability and quality standards required.
• Actively participate in the site safety program.
• Conduct plant operations including but not limited to:
  • Offloading, husking, sorting, drying, shelling, conditioning, packaging and re-bagging.
  • Receiving and bulk storage
  • Material handling
  • Material movement
  • Bin mapping, sampling and estimating
• Utilize company resources in an efficient manner in order to control cost.
• Supervises temporary/seasonal staff.
• Assist with inventory management.
• Comply with goals set forth for quality, reliability and cost.
• Lead ESH efforts, provide assistance and arrange for resources to promote safety in processing plant.
• Supervise the flow of product through the different stages of the drying & processing processes.
• Supervise the tracking and quantification of downtime.
• Maintain operational records as required by the QMS management systems.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001:2015.
• Manage personnel to ensure excellence in plant maintenance and housekeeping.
• Responsible for asset care and autonomous maintenance.
• Review KPI’s, training needs and assessment reviews LEAN Practices.
• Responsible for supporting the implementation of onePSS in drying, processing and warehouse.
• Manage operations through the production system platform onePSS.
• Support continuous improvement projects to drive cost saving and OEE.
• Leading Tier 1 meetings.

WHO YOU ARE

Experience & Qualifications

• N4 Mechanical / Electrical or 5 years' experience in seed productions
• MS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.)
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Results focused with ability to work on own initiatives
• Strong teamwork (flexibility to work across the areas and positively influencing others)
• Establish clear direction and making decisions on a timely manner
• Fluent in English
• ISO Training Desirable
