Reconciliation Specialist at Mama Money

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Resolving unreconciled items through problem-solving and in-depth investigation.
• Preparation of all daily & monthly bank/system / cash reconciliations for all entities.
• Balance sheet and accountant assistance, in the form of reporting to the accounting team
• Additional ad hoc requests for investigation.
• Compiling relevant treasury functions procedure documents/manuals for functions not yet covered in existing Treasury Policy documents.
• EFT and manual deposit recons.
• Managing the implementation and oversight of company-related deposit policies, specifically related to deposit creation, allocation, refund.
• Preparation of daily variance reports for all entities.
• Ensure all variances are resolved within the timeframe set by Management from time to time.
• Suggesting and implementing process enhancements/efficiencies. This includes finding ways to automate and streamline manual functions.
• Assist in implementing appropriate internal controls to ensure treasury is reducing their risks.
• Design and implement a recon roadmap across the companies, focused on automation of all financial and transactional recon procedures, including integration with our banking software.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
• BCom degree in Accounting / Finance / Relevant Finance-related education
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with suppliers, finance team, leadership, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders
• Passion for helping underserved communities
• Experience in managing treasury and/or recon software systems
• Experience in implementing process enhancements and efficiencies
