    Refrigeration Engineer

    Responsibilities:
    Repair, install and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems
    Maintenance and Repairs

    • Maintain and repair installed equipment
    • Provide maintenance according to Service Contracts (bi weekly, monthly or annually)
    • Follow preventative maintenance schedule
    • Respond to call outs timeously
    • Test malfunctioning systems and components
    • Overhaul equipment and identify what needs to be repaired
    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively
    • Provide feedback on failures and suggested improvements to customer and Client Service Manager/Technician Team Leader
    • Bring faulty equipment back to company and complete the correct paperwork

     
    Ordering spares/equipment and Administration

    • Inform Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager of order
    • Obtain estimated delivery date of parts from Technician Team Leader
    • Follow up on ordered parts to ensure they arrive timeously
    • Complete Service Reports for customer and submit to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager for review  
    • Complete timesheets and submit to customer and Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager weekly
    • Return timesheets to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager for invoicing and explain additional costs/variances
    • Submit credit card receipts to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager/Administration weekly
    • Deposit cash not spent for business purposes immediately on return from trip
    • Submit all slips including cash purchases to Service Administrator

    Health & Safety

    • Observe Safety and Security Procedures
    • Report potentially unsafe conditions on site by taking photos and sending these to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager
    • Use equipment and materials properly, safely and according to manufacturers’ guidelines
    • Conduct Health and Safety Risk Assessments/site inspections according to the Health and Safety Act
    • Submit Health and Safety Risk Assessments to Safety Officer weekly

     
    Other 

    • Check own vehicle against vehicle checklist and submit checklist to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager weekly
    • Ensure that vehicle is booked for servicing when required
    • Check tools against tools checklist and submit checklist to Technician Team Leader/Client Service Manager weekly  

     
    Requirements:

    • 4 years Minimum experience in a similar role from a similar industry
    • Experience with refrigeration, chillers, coolers and HVAC essential
    • Matric
    • N4 Mechanical Engineering preferably
    • Qualified Artisan, e.g. Millwright preferably
    • Computer Literate (MS Word, MS Excel)
