    Regional Sales Manager

    Job purpose

    Responsible for driving expedited growth in the assigned region. This role is critical to success as it is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective sales operation geared to the market opportunities present in South Africa.

    Overall Business

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    • Achievement of top line sales objectives
    • Manage allocated budget and Maximize ROI
       

    Key Account Management

    • Full responsibility for management of UPD on a national basis
    • Managing the Clicks OTC promotional grid, NPI
       

    Operational Management

    • Identifying region specific category/ brand opportunities and growth levers and building plans and strategies to capture these opportunities and expedite growth.
    • Key Account Management of regional Wholesalers and buying groups
    • New product introduction and speed to market
    • Drive Perfect Store compliance
    • Provide Executional Excellence guidelines to sales team and measure compliance
    • Provide coaching and feedback to sales operational team through accompanied trade visits
    • Align people and resources based on regional segmentation and channel segmentation to maximize impact and ROI.
    • Define clear sales targets and operational objectives for all regions and lead the team through execution and goal achievement.
    • Achieve distribution objectives in accordance with J&J product portfolio strategy.
    • Maximize existing coverage objectives ensuring maximized profitable direct distribution.
    • Design territory route maps to increase productivity and maximize number of selling calls.
    • Manage and Track budgets ensuring maximum ROI.
    • Manage stock availability in all branches as per J&J defined stock cover.
    • Contribute to National sales forecasting by providing insights into customer and category trends
    • Monitor market conditions and competitive environment and makes recommendations in order to accomplish or exceed objectives and to generate new business opportunities.
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers within the customers base and support customer days, roadshows and other engagement opportunities to elevate J&J as preferred supplier.
    • Ensures business integrity and healthcare compliance measures are in place and engrained into everyday practice of the sales team.
       

    Health Care Compliance

    • Responsible for co-ordinating, documenting and gaining approval for all sales activities requiring HCC sign off

    Specific requirements

    • Acquire knowledge of the Quality Management System that have been adopted by the AMET Cluster of Marketing Companies and the relevant Quality System Procedures that are applicable to the job through inclusion of related processes and procedures in the individual training plan and implementation of these procedure in the applicable job-related processes.
    • Maintain 100 % adherence in training plan timeliness and ensure appropriate application of relevant Quality and Compliance processes and procedures to the job.
    • Report any non-compliances or deviation to the Business Quality and Compliance Head of sub-cluster in AMET


    Qualifications, Essential Knowledge And Skills

    • University degree in Business administration or respective studies
    • Experience from a multinational or regional company in preferably FMCG / OTC
    • Coverage and Distribution model execution
    • Sales Operations and Customer Management experience
    • Skilled in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Manage Sales Operations tools such as Repwise
    • Fluent in English
    • Must be able to travel regularly
