Risk and Capital Management Specialist at Absa Group

The Risk and Capital team are responsible for oversight over both market risk and counterparty credit regulatory capital, portfolio composition and portfolio management. The role forms an integral part of the team and will expose the incumbent to the CIB markets strategy, risk taking and impact on business returns, empowering the Market Risk team to oversee and provide business with insight and guidance into the capital cost of existing trading strategies and risk taking under current and future regulatory changes. This role will expose the incumbent to all aspects of the trading business with the opportunity to add real value to the businesses return on capital.

In this position you will play a vital role in identifying and responding to regulatory change and updates to the market risk capital regime while ensuring the highest internal standards are adhered to. You must understand the strategy and objectives of the wider Group, and continuously seek ways to contribute to this, whilst driving the delivery of the business’ strategic plan. You will  also be responsible for the regulatory reporting and the implementation of market risk regulatory and capital models and ensuring that best practices are in place through efficient and scalable processes.
