    Sales Account Director

    Infinera pioneered Large scale Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) and Instant bandwidth (IBW) in Optical Transport Systems, which have been deployed with leading Telecom Service Providers World-wide. Our innovations have helped us win market share leadership, making us a large part of daily life all around the world with our technology. Infinera Technology has been deployed by leading Telecom Operators in Subsea, Long haul, Regional, Metro, Access & Data Center Interconnect, Optical Networks globally.

    Our Sales Managers are a vital part of what we do and will be key in driving growth of our business.

    The Sales Account Director position will be based in Johannesburg.

    Essential Functions And Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for achieving assigned sales and development goals by managing and coordinating the overall sales activities in Key Accounts based in South Africa and Southern Africa.
    • Applies a structured and disciplined approach to create new revenue streams, grow existing revenue, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain positive ongoing relationships.
    • Works with Customer as well as Infinera Global Cross Functional teams for Design & implementation of Business models & Technology solutions that delivers differentiated offerings to customers and grow Infinera’s Revenue and Customer satisfaction
    • Manages revenue goals for the key Accounts and provides regular updates to senior sales/operations staff concerning the account.
    • Ensures gathering of market intelligence, technology trends in the relevant market, analyzing and communicating them to headquarter and the product units.
    • Experienced in applying structured sales methodology (e.g. TAS).
       

    Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • At least 15 years of Direct Sales experience in Optical transport Technologies (DWDM, Access Solutions).
    • Proven experience of New Account Wins.
    • Excellent Technical Knowledge of Key technologies in DWDM, DCI, Access Solutions, SDN and a good understanding of Optical Network Architectural Requirements.
    • Experience in handling Submarine cable SLTE Sales opportunities would be an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated Success working with Global cross functional teams

    • Strong selling and negotiation skills to close deals, with excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
    • Combination of solid Technical and commercial knowledge with excellent Presentation and Interpersonal skills
    • Entrepreneurial with a good business sense, implementer with a pragmatic approach in realizing projects.
    • Excellent Team player, with desire and ability to work on an international scale.

    Education Required

    • MBA or degree in Engineering with additional degree in Business or equivalent experience in senior Business/Sales roles
