    Sales & Business Development Manager

    About

    In this position, the incumbent is responsible for Systems & Services Sales for the ESS EMEA Business Unit within the defined segments. The main tasks are (pre-)sales activities, realizing plan numbers, and position Eaton as a successful supplier for selected customers within Datacentres, Oil & Gas, Mining, and Distributed Energy Management (DEM) segments.     Your Main Duties

    • Is directly responsible for meeting the sales objectives within the above-mentioned segments.
    • Manages and realizes pre-sales and sales activities of the above-mentioned defined segments, together with Eaton Country Sales Organizations EMEA (25 organizations) and Eaton Segment Sales Organizations.
    • Prepares and executes the sales plan as aligned with annual Profit plan figures and aligned with directions from the Manager Sales & Business Development and General manager of the BU.
    • Builds and maintains a healthy project pipeline and reviews this monthly with the sales organization
    • Performs specific defined additional sales activities outside the region, if necessary due to market environment changes or due to opportunities that fit Eaton’s strategy.
    • Defines and describes the segment key accounts (Account plan) and provides specific details about the project/tender horizon, including specific tendering projects and sales opportunities.
    • Manages the selling process, including the RFQ and quotation stages.
    • Gives input to the Strategic Plan and the Product Roadmap
    • Writes and presents papers at international conferences, i.e. PCIC (Petroleum & Chemical Industry Committee), CIRED (International Conference on Electricity Distribution) or Data-Centre conferences.
    • Is responsible for providing inputs to the departmental key metrics.
    • Closely works together with colleagues in a professional manner.

    Qualifications
    What we are looking for:

    • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with additional Business Administration and Sales education preferred.
    • 5-7 years of experience in project sales in an international B2B environment
    • Excellent knowledge of the switchgear products (400V-36kV), applications and understanding of distribution grids and its key products in the related segments
    • Demonstrates sound knowledge of the assigned market & channels including competitor’s information
    • Strong communication skills in English and a second major language.
    • Intercultural awareness, able to operate in a cross border environment
    • Professional presence with customers and colleagues
    • Good and punctual reporting behavior
    • Computer skills at a high or advanced level;
    • Language skills: English for business language and local language for customer communication
    • Capable of interacting with external parties, at all levels: customers, consultants, channels, partners/system-integrators, official institutes, knowledge organizations and universities.

    • Ability to manage a diverse team at a very high level of expectation
    • Ability to understand customer needs and develop value-based proposals that persuade customer on Eaton design solutions
    • Ability to demonstrate strong project management and organization skills
    • Consistently act in an ethical, open, honest, trustworthy and truthful manner
    • Ability to look for improvements in processes and procedures that will ultimately improve the quotation turn-around time and improve the quality of quotations, with the ultimate goal of improving hit rate and generating more business
