    Sales Representative: Professional Vegetables

    About the job

    • Sakata Seed Southern Africa is one of the largest vegetable seed houses in the region and is supported by Sakata’s global team, which has developed a reputation for scientific and responsible approach to seed research. Through a focus on product development, marketing and technical support in the field, Sakata ensures that they can continuously provide the consumer with the best product quality, consistency, diversity and nutritional value.
    • Sakata’s international research facility, based in Lanseria, Gauteng, subsidiary of leading horticultural seed company.
    • The Company seeks a Sales Representative that will be based in Kimberley Region, Northern Cape. You will be responsible for implementing the company’s sales and marketing strategy for professional vegetable product in the designated sales area.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Developing market share

    • Contributing to sales planning and budgets

    • Assisting with arrangement of farmer’s days and other marketing/promotional activity

    • Co-ordinating product trials within the region

    • Collecting and reporting up-to-date market information

    • Maintaining proficiency of sales skills and product knowledge

    • Operating within budgeted OPEX

    • Accurate and timeous completion of sales administration

    • Delivery of product to clients, when necessary

    • Coordinating all commercial activities within the region

    • Managing customer accounts

    • Technical assistance to clients where possible

     

    Specific Requirements

    • Tertiary Education in Agriculture

    • +4 years’ sales experience will be to your advantage

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Strong Planning Skills

    • Excellent Communicational Skills

    • Excellent Interpersonal Skills

    • Attention to detail

    • Able to work under pressure

    • Able to multi task

    • Pro-active, dynamic and Energetic

    • Computer Literate

    • Bilingual

    • Willing to travel

    • Teamwork – Product Specialists, Breeders etc.
