    Scrum Master

    The Role

    Pattern Matched Technologies (Pty) Ltd as an award-winning WASP (Wireless Application Service Provider), telecommunications and Fintech development house, is seeking to employ a Scrum Master that will be enabling teams to self-organise, self-manage and deliver via Agile practices.

    Primary Duties:

    • Guide the team and client organization to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver business value
    • Assess the Scrum maturity of stakeholders and coach them to achieve higher levels of maturity in Agile and Scrum principles
    • Monitor and improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
    • Establishment of a cross-functional team
    • Build a high-performing team and driving on improving team dynamics and performance through continual service improvements
    • Empower and motivate the team in achieving a shared identity, values, and purpose in the delivery
    • Conduct Scrum Team initiation workshops and associated training
    • Skill the team to learn how to problem-solve for themselves
    • Drive the software development lifecycle using a DevOps approach
    • Supports the Product Owner in their efforts to creating and managing the backlog
    • Assist the Product Owner to identify and prioritize system functionality in the Product Backlog
    • Facilitates meetings including Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Review, and Retrospective
    • Help the team focus on daily and sprint goals in the context of Program Increment (PI)

    Objectives:

    • Helps the team understand how to estimate Stories, Features and Capabilities
    • Helps coordinate inter-team dependencies through coordination with other teams
    • Help the teams manage team conflict
    • Helping the scrum team to avoid or remove impediments to its progress, whether internal or external to the team

    • Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EIQ) that can be applied when working with teams

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Experience in working in a Scrum Master role or equivalent
    • Solid Agile implementation experience (Scrum and/or Kanban).
    • Experience working with different frameworks within Agile, particularly Scrum and Kanban
    • Experience of developing software using a DevOps approach would be an advantage
    • Stakeholder Management, Negotiation & Communication Skills
    • Planning Experience
    • JIRA advanced roadmap/portfolio and JIRA Sprint planning
    • Scrum Certification would be an advantage
