    Senior Manager, Accounting, IMETA

    Position Purpose

    • This regional role is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting operations for IMETA, including the production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of accounting records, processes and systems to support the accuracy of financial results in compliance with IFRS and local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including regional management of the R2R vendor relationship with the outsourced Service Provider (Genpact), ensuring the provision of services are in line with contract obligations and the delivery of services to the business meets the business’ needs and expectations.

    Responsibilities

    • Accounting & Control: For the region, manages and directs the end-to-end Record to Report /financial accounting processes, including the monthly close, intercompany, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliation and indirect taxes processes and completion of statutory financial statements and returns. Manages the Supply Chain accounting and BRACS (Hyperion Consolidations) reporting team.
    • Is directly responsible for ensuring the balance sheet and profit and loss are accurately reported and represent a true and fair view of the business results.  
    • Ensures the application of accounting standards and practices in accordance with IFRS, local accounting standards and group policies.
    • Liaises directly with senior leadership and functional heads on results, queries and complex accounting matters.
    • Statutory Reporting: Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of activities to support the Brambles and local in country statutory accounts for the region. This includes the preparation of annual financial statements, accounting technical papers, audit schedules, management declarations and financial minimum control standards, so that the Directors can sign off on their fiduciary duties for the entities within the region and more broadly for the group
    • Oversight of external and internal audit processes. Manages the external audits for the sub-region. Agrees audit findings with Internal & External auditors.
    • Transformation & Standardisation: Supports Standardisation (by implementing) of accounting processes to drive global standard.
    • People & Leadership: Attracts, retains and develops the sub-region team by providing regular feedback, coaching and training to support identified capability and technical competency needs

    Qualifications

    • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting or in a relevant finance technical discipline
    • Mandatory: Certified Chartered Accountant (Big 4 preferred)

    Experience

    • Experience managing managers in public company or foreign listed company.
    • Multinational environment reporting required; IFRS experience required
    • Experience and ability in identifying, analysing and resolving complex business transactions that affect the accounting, tax and compliance of entities within the region, including effectively communicating with senior leadership on such matters 
    • Demonstrated experience influencing people over whom there is no direct authority 
    • Previous experience working within or alongside a ‘back office’ shared service environment
    • Previous experience in working with a global finance team associated with geographically diverse businesses

    Skills and Knowledge

    • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to clearly and effectively communicate information verbally and in writing to stakeholders, including senior leadership
    • Advanced analytical skills to review and analyse complex financial information
    • Proven track record of leading and developing teams to get results
    • Solid understanding of multi-currency finance environments
    • Proven expertise in remote management and managing in a matrix experience
    • Ability to make sound, independent decisions maker
    • Consistent behavior even under strong pressure
