    Senior Manager: Bundle Products

     To advise and direct the success of the company’s products. Continually shape and grow the relevant product portfolioDrive forward the commercial strategic opportunities and provide direction at key decision points. Manage strategic partnerships, creating long-term growth, monetization and business development opportunities – influencing the evolution of our growing product portfolio
    Key Performance Objectives

    Tasks

    • Strategy Development and Execution
    •   Formulate Product strategy, and ensure execution thereof
    •   Develop, plan for, implement and take accountability for the execution of Product strategy in response to Product and Innovation strategy
    •   Establish aligned departmental outcomes focused on the implementation, measuring and management of the product strategy
    •     Define and manage the product roadmap


    Product Development

    •   Champion innovation alongside the Technical teams taking inspiration from key market trends, competitor products and emerging customer needs with ongoing consideration on how these can be addressed in ingenious new ways
    •   Support Technical teams in definition of detailed requirements both at the start of new projects and throughout the developments as point of clarification arise
    •   Review customer journeys to ensure that both customer and business needs are being met and ensure that these are carried through into the final product experience
    •   Define strategies based on market demands and research (international & local) to:
    •   Enhance the product offering
    •   Introduce new opportunities and trends

    Product Pricing

    •   Oversee project initiatives around Pricing
    •   Continuous review and proactive optimization of product rules by understanding, maintenance and enhancement of various pricing and product systems and processes.
    •   Manage annual product/service price review including financial modelling, system implementation as well as communications by doing pricing and revenue enhancement detailed analysis of transactional and customer data to provide insight into pricing strategies.

    Research and Benchmarking

    •     Monitor and review performance across the platforms, devices and product to gain consumer insights and conduct product analysis.
    •     Predictive analysis to forecast and measure outcomes / objectives.
    •     Conduct competitive analysis.
    •     Commission research to understand customer needs and demands, market trends (international & local) and the competitive landscape

    Stakeholder Management

    •     Manage partners, act as a liaison point with the business owners /units and work with all teams to ensure we maximize the commercial success of our product offering and positioning.
    •     Build a network with the functional leads / managers in Technical, Customer Care, Finance, Marketing and Retention, Content and Legal and draw on the wider expertise within DStv
       

    Budget Management

    •   Together with Business Unit Head, set budget for the product portfolio including the setting of goals and targets
    •   Manage financials and associated controls in respect of the Division (effective cost control)
    •   Implement action plans in respect of budget deviations
    •   Rigorously monitor expenditure against approve budgets and put measures in place to address variances. Continuously identify areas for improved efficiency and reduced cost.

    Qualifications

    •     A Post Graduate Degree Majoring in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration or Finance
    •     MBA Preferred

    Experience

    •     A minimum of 8 years of business experience in Product Management (various), Product Development or similar role
    •     Demonstrated success in being heavily involved in the definition, launch and management of excellent products
    •     Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    •     Experience in data management and analytical thinking, working with data analysts, and product monitoring and reporting
    •     Excellent teamwork skills
    •     Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
    •     Examples of preparing and presenting an effective document. Preferably a business plan for a new product then delivered
    •     Experience in the media and broadcasting environments
    •     Technical knowledge/awareness of the broadcasting environment
