    Senior Process Engineer / Data Scientist

     

    Provides process and data science support for running RSS manufacturing operations and other departments. Turns data into information, information into insight and insight into business and process decisions and actions in close collaboration with Production Specialists and specialists out of other departments. Ensures a stable manufacturing by identifying, monitoring and trending critical process parameters and QC data. Improves, standardizes and optimizes manufacturing and business processes based on data analysis and establishment of Control Loops.

    Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends and patterns in complex data sets. Acts as key contributor in solving manufacturing problems and providing data analysis to make fact-based decisions. Works in a dynamic environment providing process and continuous improvements for Manufacturing Operations.

    Designs dashboards for different RSS departments to visualize, automatize and simplify data driven decision taking and prioritization processes.

    Leads technical initiatives and projects focused on process improvements and continuous improvements leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Supports other continuous improvement and process improvements project leads in developing detailed project plans, metrics and coordinates activities to ensure projects are kept on track. Supports pipeline (PDP), PCQT and other development heavy projects with his process know how and data science skill set.

    Process Engineer Responsibilities

    • Assess existing processes and equipment and identify and implement improvements.
    • Implement new or transferred manufacturing processes in a timely manner.
    • Lead and/or participate in equipment and process validations.
    • Assist in troubleshooting of process and/or equipment issues.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • With guidance, able to prepare and present technical information and project summaries to peers and management.
    • Monitors work to ensure quality and to continuously promote Quality First Time.
    • Automation & Factory Support specifics:
    • Assist in designing and implementing new equipment and tools to improve manufacturing efficiencies, reduce ergonomicstress, and improve quality.
    • Update, create and sustain Standard Work documents.
    • Create and update drawings using Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks.
    • Work as part of a project team in the development and/or implementation of new equipment and tools.
    • Technical support for daily production issues related to manufacturing equipment.
    • Quality Support specifics:
    • Assist in addressing, owning, and resolving quality related issues for the manufacturing departments (ex CAPAs, and Audits)
    • Consistently uses company concepts, policies and procedures, familiar with and follows standard practices.
    • Executes experiments; participates in experimental design.
    • Utilizes DOE where appropriate.
    • Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides/implements process or document improvements.
       

    Data Scientist ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications

    • Developing and managing the Global Sequencing Operations dashboards
    • Supports maintaining the Global Operations continuous improvement portfolio.
    • Teaches, coordinates, and executes improvements using gemba walks, Kaizen events and visual management principles.
    • Develop, participate, and lead training sessions in Lean, Kaizen, and other problem-solving methods. Identify, scope, resource, and execute large-scale cross-functional projects aimed at reduction of waste.
    • Promotes and teaches the use of analytical problem solving tools to drive troubleshooting analysis striving for predictive analytics.
    • Supports deployment and development of the continuous improvement activities. Supports growth and development of Business Process Management and Lean Six Sigma methodologies within Sequencing Operations.
    • Develops and implements data collection systems.
    • Develops and monitors KPI’s to support the production and other teams to strategically steer and continuously improve
    • Optimizes statistical efficiency and data quality in close collaboration with the production teams.
    • Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
    • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns in complex data sets to improve production or business processes.
    • Provides the data analysis and is a key participant in the manufacturing problem solving process to ensure a fact based and data driven Root Cause analysis and Counter Measure identification.
    • Learns and understands manufacturing technologies in a regulated production/operations environment
    • Stabilizes and optimizes production processes
    • Leads projects and initiatives to simplify, stabilize and optimize production processes
    • Establishes, maintains and continuously improves monitoring and trending of critical process parameters and QC parameters
    • Leads and assists in troubleshooting of process and/or equipment issues.
    • Presents data findings to executive leadership.
    • Leads technical initiatives and/or projects and implements improvements into production.
    • Assist in addressing, owning, and resolving quality related issues for the manufacturing departments (ex CAPAs, and Audits)
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
    • 10% travel expected in support of Sequence Operations locations.
       
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related field.
    • Trained in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Certified LSS Green Belt preferred.
       
    • 5 years of experience in a relevant field (preferred process engineering, process development and/or data science)
       
    • Technical skills: MS SQL, Python, Tableau, R, Multilayer Statistical knowledge
    • Knowledge in statistical process monitoring and trending using Minitab, Jump or similar tools
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to present at all functional levels.
    • Prior experience managing projects, programs, or portfolios in a strategic or product context.
    • Ability to collaborate and deliver in a complex global organization
    • Ability to be proactive and take responsibility for assigned technical areas
    • Develops effective working relationships with stakeholders, peers and partners.
    • Has experience facilitating workshops and decision making meetings to reach targeted outcomes.
