    Problem Solving

    • The objective of this role is to provide actionable sensory and consumer product insights to key stakeholders across the SSA business to help deliver the AOP.
    • This includes the planning, design, execution, analysis, reporting and presentation of quantitative/qualitative consumer research projects to technical and non-technical audiances.
    • Effective collaboration across a variety of different functions will be required to be successful in this role.
       

    Accountability

    • Use strategic thinking to develop robust integrated research plans (including sensory and consumer research) covering the Technical Stage Gate process and aligning key senior stakeholders across various business functions (R&D, Consumer Insights, Marketing)
    • Provide actionable insights and interpretation based on both Qualitative & Quantitative research with consumers for both existing and future R&D projects. Implications of research will need to be communicated to senior managers and executives, and good communications skills are therefore critical.
    • Work with SCPI peers and external agency partners to ensure that required external resources are available and allocated and appropriate test designs are set and deployed to best practice requirement.
    • Work closely with manager to implement and promote SCPI vision and mission with the local teams in SSA and promote good research practices in line with wider business priorities.
    • The role works alongside peers from other functions (e.g. marketing, operations, finance). Project team members might range from level 3 to Band 2, so significant senior interaction will be required.
       

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Graduate in a Food Science or related discipline or equivalent, i.e., Sensory/Consumer Science
    • Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience in a consumer research/insights role, preferably in a FMCG environment
    • Deep knowledge of product testing methodology with strong background in qualitative/quantitative consumer and sensory research methods.
    • Good understanding/appreciation of the broader business environment and application of technical and commercial knowledge.
    • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
    • Strong IT skills, able to learn new systems quickly and to apply them in a fast moving business environment
