    SHERQ Officer (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk & Quality Officer)

    Job Context    
    Servest integarted has for a SHERQ officer, this position reports directly to the technical facilities manager at the Nelson Mnadela children Hospital. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a hospital environment.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric with a minimum of 2-5 years HSE experience.
    • Implementation and management of SHEQ Management Systems
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Self-starter, must be able to work on own initiative
    • Excellent customer relation skills
    • Be able to build relationships with Doctors, Patients, Hospital staff, Technical staff and contractors
    • Must be able to work under pressure
    • Must be service oriented
    • Must be able to work independently
    • Must be act quickly and calmly in emergency situations
    • You must be able to implement SHEQ policies & standards; and liaise with the client & subcontractors

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Review compliance to regional rules and regulations
    • Ensure that SHEQ meetings are held, recorded and document controlled
    • Enforce contractor’s compliance
    • Conduct accident investigations when required
    • Assist management with the implementation of the SHEQ management system
    • In updating the SHEQ Management system to accommodate changes in legislation and Industry Standards.
    • Ensure SHEQ document and data control systems are maintained by the responsible persons
    • Promote SHEQ Awareness
    • Monitor audit findings and recommend corrective and preventative actions
    • Conduct and facilitate risk assessments
    • Issue Non-conformances where required
    • Ensure management set objectives and targets for SHEQ compliance in the division
    • Co-ordinate the monthly safety meeting
    • Assist in appointment of safety representatives for all departments
    • Communicate changes in Safety and Environment legislation to Management
