Software QA Tester at Pattern Matched Technologies™

Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for providing support to the QA department in software testing and coordinating release activities for the business. Responsible for interfacing with the PMT development teams, successful testing, including User Acceptance Testing, reporting of system bugs, new features, regression, automated and supporting all scheduled releases and patches to the live customer environment.

The candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the below:

Primary Duties:

• Evaluates and tests new or modified software and software development procedures used to verify that software
• function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines: Writes, revises and verifies quality standards and test procedures for software design and product evaluation to attain the quality of software economically and efficiently.
• Reviews new or modified software including documentation, diagram and flow chart to determine if the software will perform according to user request and conform to guidelines.
• Recommends software improvements or corrections to developers.
• Review log files to identify processing errors.
• Enters instructions into computer to test software for the validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
• During software tests detect error codes or interruption of software and correct errors.
• Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
• Sets up tests at the request of the user to locate and correct operating error following installation/deployment.
• Monitors software performance after implementation to prevent the reoccurrence of software operating problems and ensure the efficiency of operation.
• Writes documentation to describe software evaluation, testing, and correction. Which includes test packs, UAT documentation, and maintenance of User Guides.
• Evaluates documentation originated from within the company to ensure it meets the agreed standards.
• After hours PIR checks for deployments, patch deployments, IT maintenance and unplanned after-hours Dev Support.
• PIR checks.
• May evaluate proposed software or software enhancement for feasibility.
• May develop utility programs to test, track and verify defects in software.
• May need to write programs to create new procedures or modify existing procedures.
• May need to train software users.

Skills and Competencies:

• Good knowledge of testing web and Mobi-web sites
• Knowledge and experience of software testing methodologies and tools
• Ability to turn Product requirements into test scenarios
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work in an agile environment using the SCRUM framework
• Must be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly through self-learning
• An excellent communicator both verbally and written

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Software Testing experience
• ISTQB Certified
• Knowledge of Selenium and/or any other testing software is an advantage
• Experience in automated testing and implementation thereof is an advantage
• Expertise in Smoke, Sanity, System, Functional, Regression, Iteration and End-to-End Integration testing
• Good knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools
