Job Description

• This exciting opportunity is for a Splunk Power User (Developer Role) to work for an exceptional company in the Financial Industry
• Within the role you will be expected to create knowlege objects, use field aliases and calculated fields, create tags and event types.
• Normalizing data with the Common Information Model in Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud platforms.

Experience:

• 2 yrs Splunk Enterprise Security (SPL commands)
• 2 yrs Shell Scripting Experience
• 2 yrs Designing and managing Splunk Dashboards, reports, lookup tables, and summary indexes, including Splunk SPL
• Knowledge of Splunk indexing and administration
• ledge of log formats for syslog, http logs, and DB logs.
• Linux Operating System Knowledge

Responsibilities:

• Understand requirements, participating in creating/ proposing solutions.
• Complete assignments in work request queue in a timely manner
• Design and develop Splunk reports, dashboards and visualizations. (Customized Queries)

Searches and Reporting

•  Create Pivots
• Create Reports
• Create Alerts (Building of Playbooks and Searches)
• Create Dashboards and Visualizations

Knowledge management
Trouble Shooting

• Analyse logs for all major applications and come up with the most affected areas or reoccurring issues
• Problem and Incident Management (incl Trouble shooting, Root Cause Analysis and Escalation)

Support

• Provide technical support and assistance to users as appropriate.
• End User Support Training
