    Survey Programmer

    Description

    We are looking for an enthusiastic Programmer to join our talented Programming Team as a Survey Programmer based in Durban, South Africa.

    • The MMR Data Sciences team is fast growing and now comprises of statisticians, analysts, developers and programmers. We are now looking to expand our Online Survey Programming function which is a key area of development for the Data Sciences team.
    • You will get the opportunity to work on a variety of interesting new projects whilst being well supported by a large and multi-disciplinary Data Sciences team.

    We are ideally looking for candidates with some programming experience and an interest in data science / digital technology.

    The role:

    • The primary responsibility is creating online surveys using specialist market research programming software (ConfirmIt)
    • Project Management is an essential part of the role and our internal stakeholders are the global research teams. The role will include liaising with our team, researcher teams and suppliers in order to meet exact project requirements and timings.
    • Strong attention to detail and a high level of numeracy is required

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role you will:

    • Whilst training will be provided you will have the aptitude and ability to learn to use the specialist survey programming software and manage the resultant data files that the process creates.
    • Be highly data literate, including a good working knowledge of Excel
    • Be a fast and accurate typist, comfortable using a keyboard
    • Have great attention to detail – checking data, tests and validating databases is part of the role
    • Possess strong self-management and organizational skills
    • Possess good problem solving and logical thinking skills
    • Have excellent communications skills – including fluent spoken and written English
    • Be good at working with others – maintaining open and honest relationships with your colleagues and clients
    • Have a desire to continuously learn and improve, taking up opportunities for new experiences

    Desirable Requirements:

     

    • Fair knowledge in HTML/HTML 5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
    • Fair understanding on responsive design, web standards
