    Talent and DEI Transformation Manager (BEE & HR Experience Essential)

    Reporting to the South African HR Director, this position will be an instrumental contributor to the Global and Local Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (and Transformation) strategy. The role will partner with the Head of Global DEI to execute Global DEI objectives and targets in country and solely accountable for the South African B-BBEE & Transformation strategy.

    The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and have demonstrated experience delivering results across global and local DEI objectives. The Transformation and Diversity Manager will be required to build sustainable, influencial and strategic relationships across many levels of Leadership within Mimecast as well as operate as a strategic business partner in defining the required B-BBEE and Transformation project deliverables across multiple business units.

    The ideal candidate will also have experience nurturing and advancing diverse representation and increasing an inclusive culture as well as advising and guiding the South African Employee Resource Groups (such as the Employment Equity committee) to help them grow into strategic business advisors for the organization. The ability to design effective DEI (and Transformation) awareness campaigns, and coach Leaders and Managers on DEI topics will be crucial.

    Key Responsibilities


    • Partner, influence and design the Strategy for Global and Local Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (and Transformation) objectives.
    • Help Facilitate open and honest discussions about transformation issues to advance DEI (&T) objectives
    • Responsible for designing and project managing all aspects relating to B-BBEE, Employment Equity (EE) and Skills Development (SD) compliance:
      • Improving the B-BBEE scoring achieved, assigning transformation targets to business units, monitoring performance against set targets and managing the annual B-BBEE verification process
      • Plan, implement and report on the Company's annual Workplace Skills Plan, Annual Training Report and Priority Skills plan, in alignment with B-BBEE targets and business needs. Annual submission of Skills Development statutory reporting to SETA.
      • Ensure compilation and submission of an annual EE report to the Department of Labour as well as the Implementation of the 5 Year Employment Equity Plan
      • Support recruitment strategic efforts in sourcing and attracting talent from underrepresented groups in line with the company's global diversity targets and local employment equity plan.
      • Partner with Global teams to support the implementation of Skills Development & Mentorship programs.
      • Act as Mimecast’s local DEI and Transformation custodian and ensure the implementation of frameworks that deliver results
      • Develop and implement related DEI (&T) projects such as transparency around Diversity, Compensation and Promotion data
      • Influence and be accountable for alignment between the Employment Equity Plan and the Company's Workplace Skills Plan and annual submission.
      • Contribute to the development and representation of Employee Resource groups such as the South African Employment Equity Committee
      • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders e.g. Department of Labour, Department of Trade and Industry, MICT SETA etc. to ensure that their co-operation can be obtained when required on Transformation matters and interventions
    • Experience
      • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and /or Human Resources Business Partner experience

      • B-BBEE MDP / professional certification
      • Relevant degree/ diploma (NQF level 6)
      • 5 years of relevant experience in a B-BBEE Transformation
      • At least 2 years of experience on management level
      • Experience as a technical auditor for a verification agency a plus
