Tax Accountant at Clickatell

Purpose

• The Tax Accountant is responsible for ensuring compliance with various tax legislation in South Africa including countries such as India, UK, US and Nigeria, as well as the accounting function of tax related ledger accounts. The incumbent will ensure that all tax risks are appropriately identified, managed and mitigated to ensure no financial loss or negative impact to the Clickatell Group’s reputation. Focus is on adding value and supporting business operations in respect of all tax matters.

Tax accounting, Reporting and Compliance

• Deliver a full range of corporate tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe.
• Act as the key point of contact and support for local taxation matters.
• Preparation of Provisional and Income Tax returns of all entities in the Group.
• Preparation of monthly income tax and deferred tax computations.
• Preparation and submission of VAT and WHT returns.
• Preparation and submission of IT14SD returns.
• Withholding tax administration.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of the ledger balance to the VAT returns and WHT returns.
• Identify, correct and communicate tax accounting errors to the responsible persons.
• Provide information relating to the tax reconciliations, tax provisions and annual report tax note to the external auditors.
• Assistance with developing and maintaining the Group’s transfer pricing policies.
• Assistance with Business Insurance needs for the Clickatell Group.

Requirements

Requirements of the Role

• Preferably CA (SA)/ BAcc (Hons)
• Degree in taxation or Higher Diploma in Tax will be advantageous

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3-6 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant or Tax Specialist
• Experience in creating and maintaining complex spread sheets.
• Microsoft Dynamics (NAV) experience will be advantageous
• Experience in a corporate environment will be advantageous
• In-Depth Knowledge and Ability (this means that you are the “go-to” person)
• Advanced MS Excel skills essential
• Must have IFRS knowledge
