    Tax Specialist

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    To provide tax assistance and support to the Group Tax Executive and allocated Group Tax Manager for Aspen Group companies of the business in managing and overseeing the Aspen Group’s tax affairs.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOMES / ACCOUNTABILITY:

    General:

    • Undertaking tax research as requested by the Group Tax Manager
    • Presenting tax technical topics to the Group Tax team

    Responsible and provide assistance to the Group Tax Manager in executing their role, which would include undertaking the following work:

    • Prepare corporate income tax return for certain Group companies
    • Prepare the advance tax computations for certain Group companies
    • Prepare VAT returns for certain Group companies
    • Prepare responses to queries raised by tax authorities in relation to certain Group companies
    • Prepare the intra-group recharges including processing changes to the relevant database, sending out timesheets and processing the same in relation to Aspen Holdings and Aspen Finance
    • Prepare controlled foreign company returns for the Group
    • Assisting with the forecast and budget calculations for controlled foreign company imputations to assess if any tax liability should be included in the budget, forecast and provisional tax payments for the holding company
    • Preparation of responses to international tax and transfer pricing queries that are raised by the tax authority
    • Maintain the permanent information database, for a certain Group companies
    • Draft tax opinions for Aspen Group companies as requested by the various stakeholders within the business
    • Prepare local file for certain Group companies. Manage project end to end in supervision of Line Manager
    • Preparing annual tax reporting packs for submission to the statutory or Group auditors, for certain Group companies
    • Collating information and submitting the information in TRCS
    • Prepare tax technical presentations to be presented during technical sessions
    • Undertaking tax research as requested

    LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT: 

    • Performance discussions are held to identify learning requirements.
    • Training or solutions are provided for developmental needs
    • Provide ongoing assessment and feedback of development of self

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Com/CA (SA)
    • Dip (Tax)
    • 2-6 yrs. corporate tax experience
    • Demonstrate Aspen Values or Competencies
