    Treasury Analyst

    Position Purpose:

    • Responsible for the integrity of the Group’s treasury and exchange control information to provide meaningful and reliable financial support to the IMETA region in line with the strategic initiatives of the company, whilst complying with Group requirements and regulatory standard

     

    Key Accountabilities:

    •   Responsible for the Treasury function to ensure that effective processes and controls are in place to produce accurate and timely financial information, including responsibility for exchange control documentation and payment instructions, cash forecasts, negotiation of forward exchange contracts including hedge accounting and cross border payments, foreign exchange for travellers and local petty cash. Champion on treasury and foreign exchange developments.
    •  Responsible for the administration of the companies’ Banking systems including responsibility for all banking processes.
    •  Responsible for liaising with Banking institutions on any issues encountered with respect to the treasury activities. This will include queries relating to P2P.
    • Responsible for ensuring that Intercompany transactions are settled within the timelines as set out in the intercompany policy, this includes management of the Netting process.
    • Assist with bi-annual, annual Group Results and IFRS reporting relating to cash management.
    • Liaise with external and internal auditors, and provide input and follow up on Reports to Management.
    • Continually assess the efficiency, integrity and controls of our financial systems in relation to the business needs; co-ordinate enhancements and ensure there is compliance with company and legislative retention of documents requirements, and general housekeeping rules.
    • Provide support and assistance to Finance and other functions ensuring effective cross functional communication with the ultimate objective of safeguarding the company’s assets and minimising risk.
    • Participate in cross functional projects and teams and carry out ad hoc analyses and tasks as requested by Management.
    • Motivate and supervise staff in line with the company's objectives, creating a positive and productive work environment for the team.
    • Assist with the Bank Clearing process and Bank reconciliations.

     

    Qualification/ Skills

    •  BCom Honours or similar 
    • Previous Treasury experience is required
    • Experience in a computerised accounting environment, with knowledge of control systems, and company requirements.
    • Staff Management.
    • Ability to work independently
    • Sound judgement on technical treasury matters
    • Experience dealing with senior management

     

    System Knowledge:

    • SAP
    • MS Office Suite
    • High level of proficiency in spread sheeting (e.g. use of Pivot Tables)
