Vehicle Inspector & Assessor (Motor Mechanic / Panel Beater) 6 Month Contract at Kelly

The Role

We're seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic, for a vehicle inspection and assessing role, on a 6 month contract in Cape Town (Maitland) with the possibility of contract renewal / permanency thereafter.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspect vehicles towed in or driven to the Clients premises, and draft a vehicle inspection report with photographs
• Inspect vehicles based at client locations in the Metropole area and draft a vehicle inspection report with photographs (day trips)
• Review quotes, audatex reports, vehicles technical history, and make a recommendation to Management to repair or withdrawn the vehicle from service
• Compile request for quotes for accident damaged vehicles, with photographs, and coordinate the viewing of vehicles by panel shops to quote on repairs.
• Compile an Audatex report request, with photographs, for approval by Management, and facilitate the viewing of the vehicle to obtain the audatex quote
• Contact local OEM’s (Dealerships) and vehicle parts suppliers to obtain quotations via telephone or email
• Compile and capture the vehicle condition assessment report on the Clients in-house fleet management system, test drive the vehicle and take photographs of the vehicle and body damages, etc. Using the Auto Dealers Guide values to determine the market related value in comparison to the vehicles condition and submit to Management for a decision.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

• Qualified Motor Mechanic or Panel beater
• Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience in a mechanical, panel beating or similar fleet management environment.
• Code EC drivers licence and a prdp
• Knowledge and experience in fleet management
• Excellent computer literacy skills
• Sound technical knowledge with regard to the repair, maintenance, panel beating and spray painting of vehicles (i.e. Motorcycles, Quads, Sedans, LDV’s, Panel vans, Cranes, Trucks and Busses)
• Knowledge of office administration

Package & Remuneration:

• 6 Month Contract (Possibly renewable / permanency)
• From R250+ per hour worked (negotiable)
