Job description

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform control systems sizing calculations for control valves, relief valves, flow elements, thermo wells and other instrumentation
• Create instrument index and datasheets, generate reports, and monitor design wiring and loop development activities in Intergraph SmartPlant Instrumentation database
• Develop intermediate complexity control systems narrative specifications
• Develop control systems logic diagrams and/or cause and effect diagrams
• Represent control systems in model reviews; closely monitor 3D modeling prepared by design group utilizing review software
• Develop specifications and design of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) hardware and software applications; monitor DCS/PLC/SIS design developed by the design group

Basic Job Requirements

• BSc/BEng or BTech Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems or Mechatronics) with at least 8 years experience.
• Professional registration (ECSA) and active participation in external technical society

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional registration and membership in technical society
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials
• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
• Practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
