    Service Manager

    Job description

    Job Overview

    To ensure that the quality of Pest Prevention and standards of productivity as set by the Company are achieved within the financial budget.

    Main Responsibilities

    • To liaise with the Operations Manager and Service Controller.
    • To be conversant with and observe the Ecolab Policies and Procedures Manual.
    • To comply with the Ecolab Codes of Practice i.e. the personal rules of conduct, the Ecolab rules of conduct, the rules that satisfy the client and the safety codes of conduct.
    • To ensure that all Service Specialists are carrying out their service work as specified according to Ecolab standards and that of the Department of Agriculture, A.I.B. and H.A.C.C.P. requirements.
    • To ensure that all equipment under your control is clean and well maintained.
    • To ensure that you and all staff members under your control wear the Company’s uniform during working hours and to ensure that it is kept in good condition.
    • To ensure that all service vehicles are kept secure, clean, tidy and in a roadworthy condition.
    • To ensure that all vehicles carry the prescribed range of preparations and equipment to complete the day’s work.
    • To motivate and direct all service staff under your control.
    • To ensure that all preparations are maintained and used correctly and rotation of stock is practised, i.e. use the oldest stock first.
    • Assist in the thorough training of Service Specialists (AIB, HACCP etc).
    • All theory must be backed by practical application.
    • Guide Service Specialists to good public relations with all clients.
    • Conduct regular interesting and informative meetings for the purpose of morale promotion and continued updating of subject knowledge.
    • Enlighten Service Specialists on the advantages of planned working, economical use of vehicles, correct use of preparations and materials and maintenance of equipment.
    • Maintain a high public image by insistence on: personable appearance, clean and neat Company dress, clean vehicles, equipment in good condition, conscientious and neat approach to work.
    • Create awareness to new business opportunities and encourage leads.
    • Attend weekly Operations meetings.
    • Call into the office daily to attend to I/T’s, follow ups and emergencies.
    • Check that all work is programmed and executed as per the work schedule.
    • ESR’s – Courtesy calls to clients once the emergency has been attended to.
    • Assist with I/T’s.
    • Ensure that all worksheets and Service Reports are completed as per the Company requirements and handed into the office at least twice weekly.
    • Involvement in Performance Appraisals and Grievances.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • P-Number ( older than 3 years) more than one P will be an advantage
    • Computer literate
    • Management experience in the field at least 3 years compulsory
