As the Continuous Improvement Manager you will be responsible for the following:
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the plant management team in the progress of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) annual plan, and assist in the identification and implementation of countermeasures to ensure achievement of WCM objectives.
- Execute and implement Continuous Improvement programme through training and coaching in the use of the appropriate WCM/CI tools & techniques.

Providing thought leadership and Coach the plant in the definition and achievement of the WCM targets, and assist in identifying, analysing, and solving operational problems.
- Direct and guide the plant Pillar Owners in the development and deployment of the WCM Pillars across the plant.
- Lead the plant Pillar Owners in Pillar Technical Audits in the plant to define improvements required.
- Work closely with the WCM Regional Champion to drive the implementation of the WCM agenda within the South African region.
- Develop and maintain effective communications by ensuring organisation-wide deployed across the Gyproc plants, and influence effective engagement to the WCM initiatives.
- Readily avail one to answer questions and points of clarification to deliver the required understanding and commitment to WCM.
- Co-create and proactively enhance the transfer of knowledge across the Gyproc sites and departments, to help deliver the “learn once” and “deploy many” philosophy.
- In collaboration with Engineering, Technical and Operational functions, define, establish, fully deploy and continuously improve “best practice” for process, engineering or working procedures across the business.

REQUIREMENTS
- Appropriate university degree (BSC; B.Eng. Electrical/Mechanical/ Chemical Industrial)

A secondary qualification in one or more of;

World Class Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement

Lean Manufacturing

Six Sigma / Quality & Process Control

- Subject matter expertise in the various principles and practices of WCM/CI; Problem Solving using Focused Improvement tools, Autonomous Maintenance, Professional Maintenance, Early Equipment Management, Six Sigma, Quality & Process Control, Lean Manufacturing, etc.

Training, Coaching & Facilitation techniques

The ability to work with people through engagement is just as important as the technical qualifications, as a very important aspect of the role is in the influencing of change

5 years’ experience in a people management rolr
-
Previous experience in either production/ engineering management
-
2 years’ experience in a WCM facilitator role
