    IT Support Technician


    Job description


    • A tertiary qualification (diploma or degree) in IT
    • At least 2 years’ work experience supporting users in a corporate environment
    • Comfortable learning new technologies and able to multi-task between supporting both cloud and desktop/locally-hosted applications and servers
    • Experience in the use of Incident Management tools and systems (for example Jira, MS CRM, SysAid, Salesforce Desk etc...)
    • Overall understanding of IT infrastructure and networking, including mobile networks and devices
    • Understanding of macOS would be advantageous as we have approximately 30% Apple device users


    • Attention to detail, systematic approach to problem solving, proven track record in solving complex technical and system-level issues
    • Positive, approachable and excellent with clients (both internal and external)
    • Patient and a good teaching or coaching style when it comes to up-skilling users
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accurate and meaningful feedback to user
    • Proven ability to plan and prioritize your work and manage client expectations
    • Ability to build relationships with both customers and colleagues
    • Some exposure to dealing with a de-centralized or distributed organization would be beneficial (multi-office scenario)

    Responsibilities will include

    • Handle daily technical support activities for desktop and network users
    • Setup desktop computers and peripherals and test network connections.
    • Install and test desktop software applications and enable permissions and user profiles
    • Troubleshoot PCs and make recommendations in terms of re-build, upgrade or replace
    • Train end users on usage of computer hardware and software.
    • Develop and manage effective professional working relationships with contractors (who may
    • be operating in other cities or countries)
    • Adhere to policies as per corporate manuals and directives and assist with the drafting of these policies where required
    • Source and procure equipment and software licenses
    • Manage stock levels of equipment and licenses
    • Assist in assembly and configuration of Entersekt proprietary client-premises servers
    • Maintain computer peripheral devices like printers and resolve associated problems, either directly or via service providers
