Senior Operations Manager at TFG (The Foschini Group)

Job description

Your responsibilities, amongst others, will include:

• Managing a manufacturing Business consisting of sample rooms, pre-production, production and trims
• Must possess a good understanding of production processes from pre-production to delivery including the complete CMT process
• Adhering to and managing Critical Path and deadlines
• Negotiating
• Costings and work study
• Managing staff
• Production planning and delivery status reporting
• Relationship management with design, suppliers and Foschini
• Active participation and involvement in strategic decision making
• Sound knowledge of current issues facing the clothing industry

Skills required:

• Minimum 5-10 years experience in a clothing factory or similar environment is essential
• Clothing production diploma will be advantageous
• Production and Pre-production knowledge
• Garment construction knowledge
• Work study knowledge
• Design knowledge will be advantageous
• Ability to motivate staff and suppliers
• An entrepreneurial, merchant-style of thinking / Trader mentality
• Maintain and improve the financial controls within the business, including dealing with budgets
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong Negotiation skills
• Relationship management and Team building skills
• Administrative/Organisational skills
• Computer Literacy
