    Trainer Application Support

    Job description

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

    • To present training to users on all Basic Accounting System (BAS) functional areas in order to enable them to use the system effectively. BAS is a custom-built accounting system developed by Accenture and used by all National and Provincial Government Departments;
    • The role encompasses facilitation and material development; and 
    • The role will also involve constant evaluation of the training cycle.

    KEY OUTPUTS:

    • Manage and set up repositories such as knowledge base (Wiki, FAQ Portal), LMS, knowledge exchange etc.
    • Provide guidance and support to internal & external clients on appropriate training content and duration for training audiences, as needed
    • Provide classroom training and fulfill other training assignments as needed (Secondary Function)
    • Provide Total LMS administrative assistance and expert consultation on Total LMS including interacting
    • Facilitate knowledge transfer by answering questions, guiding to knowledge resources, clarifying knowledge requests and involving Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) if necessary
    • Promote knowledge sharing across the teams and project
    • Support internal or external client requirements to implement training programs
    • Prepare, organize and conduct or participate in knowledge exchange sessions with internal and external stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
    • Develop creative strategies, methodologies and tools to facilitate the assessment of individual and team learning and the measurement of progress in achieving outcomes
    • Mentor and coach trainers or SMEs on how to deliver the curriculum and the training
    • Conduct audience and needs analysis to confirm appropriateness of learning outcomes
    • Identify learning-related issues such as content sequencing, flow of information and relevancy of media
    • Evaluate materials to ensure that learning outcomes have been met and appropriately satisfy knowledge gaps
    • Create and perform test plan, lead course usability, testing and implementation of corrective actions
    • Identify detailed learning outcomes for each course based on business drivers and performance goals; map course content to appropriate learning outcomes
    • Create and implement learning delivery performance criteria and evaluate the results from on project perspective impact on the learning strategy and communicate

    Administration Responsibilities:

    • Weekly administrative duties need to be performed:
    • completion of client attendance register;
    • turnaround accurately reflecting hours worked; and
    • Status report to supervisor.
    • Bi-monthly administrative duties need to be performed:
    • Time report reflecting hours worked.
    • Responsible to provide Training Team Leader with latest training statistics

    Supervision Responsibilities:

     No supervision of resources is required.

    OTHER FEATURES OF THE JOB (e.g., location, traveling, shift hours, etc.):

    • Overtime when required (must be pre-approved);
    • Open plan office;
    • Based in Centurion/ Erasmuskloof; and
    • Travelling to other sites or provinces when required.

    COMPETENCIES:

    •  LMS Configuration (Moodle Practitioner)
    • Content Development skills
    • Strong problem solving ability.
    • Probing and good listening skills.
    • Ability to work independently, without constant supervision.
    • Good interpersonal skills. Must be able to build professional relationships with client and user community.
    • Time management skills
    • PC literate and experience in MS products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Presentation and facilitation skills.

     EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:

    Advantageous:

    • Education & training qualification.
    • At least one to two years finance experience;

    Essential:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in setting up and maintaining an LMS preferably Moodle
    • 2-4 years’ digital Content Development
    • 2-4 years’ facilitation experience.
