    Executive Housekeeper

    Job description

    • To plan, manage and supervise the effective and efficient cleaning of the student accommodation as per required Standards, ensuring tenant satisfaction. To adhere to, maintain and implement Housekeeping and Company policies and procedures. To control and keep costs of cleaning, overtime and casual labour below budgets.
    • Supervise all staff including selecting, training, evaluating, scheduling, counseling and disciplining in accordance to the company policies.
    • To ensure set cleaning standards are achieved.
    • To prepare daily, weekly, monthly and semesterly cleaning schedules ensuring unnecessary overtime and use of casual labour is eliminated
    • To liaise and communicate with maintenance about maintenance issues identified in rooms and all common areas
    • Monitor that Housekeepers clean and maintain student accommodation as per cleaning schedule, as allocated
    • Ensure that cleaning equipment is kept neat and tidy at all times, during the shift
    • Order, receive, store and issue housekeeping cleaning consumables and maintain accurate records of usage
    • Report any maintenance issues or damages identified in rooms and communal areas in maintenance book
    • Have daily staff briefings with entire housekeeping staff to communicate, update and listen to staff concerns or comments.
    • Enforcing discipline of housekeeping staff
    • Controlling costs of cleaning consumables, overtime and casual labour
    • Conduct daily shift briefings, and keep records of all such staff meetings
    • Develop a culture of cost saving by switching off lights during day time in all rooms, reporting of any water leaks by housekeepers, and avoiding wastage of consumables
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working for housekeeping team
    • Establish and maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program - i.e. floor care, deep cleaning, showers cubicles, windows, stoves, etc
    • Maintain employee records concerning attendance and punctuality
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and residents
    • Maintaining an asset register for all rooms and reporting all damages to general manager for cost recovery from concerned student
    • Compiling weekly, month end and ad hoc reports for residence manager
