    Production Superintendent

    Job description

    Our client is looking for a Production Superintendent who will be responsible for all Manufacturing and Operational activities with the Cells. This includes resource scheduling and optimization in order to supply product safely, on time at the contracted quality standard.

    Requirements and Qualifications (Skills and Experience)

    • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
    • A Diploma/Degree in Manufacturing Management would be an advantage
    • Minimum 8 years’ experience in high-volume manufacturing, with 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience
    • Excellent problem solving abilities, good judgement and a decision maker
    • Ability to communicate in English
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality
    • Computer literacy, with good spreadsheet, Power Point presentation and ERP system knowledge

    Job Description (Tasks and Responsibilities)

    • Schedule production, staffing, equipment; exercise cost control, quality control, inventory control; coordinate production activities with those of other departments
    • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
    • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
    • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points
    • Initiate plans and processes, which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilisation of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
    • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques
    • Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment
    • Assure that disciplinary issues are effectively administered and that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion
