    Junior Product Manager


    Job description

    To assist and support the Product Manager (SSA) in building a profitable brand portfolio through brand management leadership, winning strategies, innovation and flawless execution in the SSA region.


    • The role will shadow and assist the Product Manager (SSA) with all of the below outputs on the bigger portfolio in order to gain greater experience that will support a future Product Manager position.
    • Achieve revenue, profit and market share growths in SSA region
    • Assist in the development promotional and advertising strategies that grow brand market shares against competitors
    • Manage the day-to-day activities associated with marketing efforts, including project management, creative development, cross-functional implementation, campaign tracking and reporting as necessary
    • Assist in the development and execution of annual brand plans in order to achieve business goals, in line with existing marketing strategy
    • Work with other functions to ensure effective implementation of marketing plan and objectives
    • Anticipate future trends in disease management and the market environment
    • Flawlessly execute the marketing plans through effective cross functional operation
    • Provide creative direction for brand/ portfolios strategies and manage Agency outcomes
    • Track and measure market, competitive, and business performance, feeding into marketing/sales meetings and business review meetings
    • Provide input & accurate commercial trends to feed into the monthly forecasting system and form part of the forecasting meetings to optimize the forecasting accuracy
    • Liaise with relevant functions in the business to maintain supply of allocated products to market, ensuring efficient stock levels and sales forecasts are met
    • Discuss and sign off plans and results with the Brand Manager before communicating to business leadership and relevant teams within the business at all times
    • Responsible for managing & accountable for driving the New Product Launch process in SSA together with the relevant stakeholders like Demand Planning, Regulatory Affairs, Medical and others
    • Manage brand office administration and expense budget effectively
    • Sense of urgency in resolution of customer queries



    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Tertiary qualification in Marketing / Studying towards a Marketing Degree
    • Min 2-years’ experience in Brand/Product Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry
    • Sales experience
    • Product launch experience would be an advantage
    • Exports experience would be an advantage
