    Project Manager

    Job description

    Main Purpose:

    Previously worked in a PMO organisation; Experience in managing cross-organisational and cross-platform projects and accustom to corporate and global working environments. Strong facilitator and a true leader skills. Proactive and structured approach and can lead your projects to the defined goal, fulfilling the agreed business needs with the allocated resources.

    DSV Group PMO (Project Management Office) is responsible for managing global and regional projects, which covers business development, process optimization, re-organisations, IT-systems and infrastructure. As a project manager you will be dedicated to manage our corporate and cross-organisational projects.

    The role will include delivering projects supporting the overall strategy for DSV. All projects executed out of Group PMO are anchored at top management level within DSV. Daily administration as required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Purchasing,
      • To plan and follow-up on assigned projects according to the defined methodoligy in DSV Group PMO - including time scheduling, cost plans, resource management, quality assurance etc.
      • To develop, implement and anchor workflows/procedures and ensure proper handover from project to operations.
      • To report to the project stakeholders according to defined structures, i.e. project team, board, executive and other relevant stakeholders.
      • To communicate and involve internal and external stakeholders also at top management level.
      • To manage and drive project teams and stakeholders.
      • To uncover business needs and turn needs into activities that bring value to DSV
      • Tools: Application of the following tools and/or methodologies as appropriate and when required:
    • Project Office (Clarity)
      • Submit all approved PO's to supplier for delivery.
      • Risk Management: Apply sound risk management principles to all aspects of projects activities to ensure all risk factors are avoided, mitigated and/or managed in the best interests of DSV business, clients and staff. Objective of this is also to reduce the time and cost of change / implementations.
    • Contractual: Support contract development and/or negotiation with clients and suppliers.
    • Financial: Manage project budgets.
    • Procurement: Support supplier selection and management aligned with sound ethical business practice and DSV Policy.
    • Travel: Reasonable local and international travel requirement to use knowledge, skills and experience in support of relevant DSV business objectives.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
    • Degree / Diploma in Management or Engineering or relevant three year qualification from accredited institution and/or Project Management Training.

    Job Specific Requirements:

    • Minimum of 4 years project management experience with international projects.
    • Unendorsed license & own transport.
    • Ability to travel around Gauteng, South Africa & International.
    • Solid corporate English language skills (written and verbal) (DSV corporate language).
    • Strong interpersonal skills & able to work in a collaborative & team-based environment.
    • Aptitude to multi-task & employ effective problem solving abilities.
    • Prince2 and Scrum Certification is preferred.
    • Ability to build and maintain business relationship.
    • Ability to work under pressure and with many stakeholder across the organisation.
    • Effective negotiation and communication skills in order to manage internal and external “customers”.
    • Very good people skills – understanding and managing your team and profiles within and outside of the project.
