    Associate Consultant

    Job description

    Main Purpose

    Alexander Forbes is seeking a Associate Consultant Retail to assist Financial Planning Consultants in segmented Corporate accounts and with marketing the services of the Financial Planning Division with, inter alia, wellness days, retirement seminars, onsite consulting etc

    Minimum Requirements

    Formal Qualifications

    • Matric
    • Tertiary qualification i.e. BCom (majors in Financial Management or Financial Planning or Investments)
    • CFP license (member of the FPI or studying towards it)

    Experience

    • 2 -3 years in Financial planning role (holistic financial planning to the client) preferablyoff supervision
    • 3 years experience in Sales (Face to face)preferably in short term insurance industry with pay slip as proof of previous commission earned
    • Excellent sales record over a number of years (minimum three)
    • Be professional at all times with prospects, clients and other AF Group staff
    • Presentation skills, both 1:1 and to groups
    • Ability to present professionally to Executives and Corporate Accounts
    • FAIS Compliance (Credits, DOFA)
    • RE 5

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities

    • To assist in segmented Corporate accounts with marketing and financial planning needs
    • Develop and implement strategies to obtain and manage business opportunities arising within assigned and segmented Corporate accounts
    • Help manage and strengthen relationships with key staff in assigned and segmented Corporate accounts
    • Assist Senior Consultants where needed in segmented Corporate accounts
    • Meet clients in person to provide them with financial planning advice and solutions
    • Make a written recommendation based on a clients responses to the risk profile questionnaire and subsequent discussions
    • Provide the client with information on the performance of the various investment portfolios available
    • Educate the clients with regards to basic investment principles, i.e. risk versus reward, market sentiment, trends, performance (offshore and local), benchmarks etc
    • Ensure that the clients investment portfolio is consistent with FPC's investment philosophy
    • Resolve client concerns, queries and/or complaints
    • Source new business by means of referrals
    • Implement and process advice in the line with FPC systems and policies
