    Payroll Supervisor

    Job Description

    Purpose of the job: To ensure the timely administration and reconciliation of all payments, monthly and annual tax procedures and perform payroll auditing functions through efficient supervision and judgement.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in managing the Payroll department
    • Assist with effective management of Employee Benefits
    • Manage and reconcile Remuneration and Employee Benefits queries
    • Manage Customer centricity
    • Team human resources management
    • Audit and assist with the annual tax recon process for South Africa and neighboring countries of Lesotho, and Swaziland during their respective tax periods
    • Investigate and hand-over all rejections to the applicable Payroll administrator and request that they inform the staff members of missing or incorrect documentation
    • Correct the negative earnings on the system to ensure IRP5 data is correct
    • Print duplicate IRP5 forms as requested
    • Ensure that the IRP5 forms are printed and distributed timeously
    • Deal with all queries from SARS and staff as they arise
    • Ensure that monthly audits are done to ensure all employees have a valid tax number
    • Apply for the tax directives timeously
    • Ensure that the deduction report balances with the monthly deductions made
    • Query all discrepancies and rectify as required
    • Request that the finance department authorise an EFT payment
    • Effectively manage all queries relating to third party payments
    • Ensure that the relevant administrators accurately action all manual payments
    • Investigate the reason for the manual payment and notify the relevant HR manager
    • Approve all manual payments to the applicable banks.
    • Effectively manage all queries relating to late payments or non-payments.
    • Once notification of a recall payment is received after salaries have closed, ensure that the recall is processed FIHRST Management
    • Check all new appointments and terminations
    • Monthly variance checks to be investigated and corrections made where applicable
    • Audit all bank detail changes made on a daily basis
    • Audit and verify duplicate bank details

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Grade 12
    • Payroll Certification
    • MS Office Proficiency
    • Advanced Excel
    • Demonstrated proficiency VIP People
    • Competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes):

    Knowledge:

    • Proficiency in VIP People Payroll
    • In -depth knowledge of Payroll and Tax administration
    • Current knowledge of BCEA and Tax Legislation
